On November 10, 2025, a serious incident happened near the Red Fort in Delhi. A car explosion caused chaos and fear among the people living in the city. The explosion was very powerful and resulted in the loss of many lives and injuries. At least 15 people were killed, and more than 20 others were hurt in the blast. The car involved in the explosion was identified as a Hyundai i20, a common model used by many people for daily travel.
This tragic event shocked the nation because it showed how dangerous and unpredictable terrorist activities can be. The explosion took place in a busy, historic area, which is visited by many tourists and locals alike. Such incidents are very rare in this area, and when they do happen, they cause panic and concern about safety.
The authorities wasted no time in investigating the incident. They quickly identified the driver of the car as Dr. Umar Mohammed. He was a doctor from Pulwama, a place in Jammu and Kashmir. At the time of the explosion, he was working in Faridabad, which is near Delhi. Dr. Umar is among eight people who have been arrested so far in connection with the case. The police and national security agencies are now working closely to understand the full story behind the explosion and to find out why it happened.
The investigation is led by the National Investigation Agency, which is a special organization in India that handles serious crimes, including terrorism. The Delhi Police are also involved in collecting evidence and questioning suspects. From the start, officials believe that this incident is linked to a terrorist group. This group is suspected to have connections with organizations based in Pakistan. Such groups often use secret communication tools like encrypted messages and ghost SIM cards to hide their activities from the authorities.
During their investigation, authorities found large quantities of explosives hidden in the car. They discovered about 360 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, a chemical often used in bombs. Besides ammonium nitrate, they found other chemicals that could be used to make explosives. This shows that whoever planned the attack knew how to assemble dangerous devices. The police think the group was radicalized, meaning they had strong and extreme beliefs that made them willing to carry out violent acts.
The investigators also found evidence suggesting the terrorists used online tools, especially Telegram groups, to communicate. These online chat groups often allow users to speak privately and secretly, making it easier for terrorists to plan and coordinate their activities. It is believed that the group members had plans to carry out attacks not just in Delhi but in multiple locations across India. This raises concerns about a wider network of terror cells aiming to cause harm in several parts of the country.
As of now, the authorities have not confirmed whether any well-known places, such as global coffee chains or other popular sites, were direct targets of these planned attacks. They are still working hard to find out all the details of the plot. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have kept most of the information confidential to prevent further danger.
This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing security concerns facing India and many other countries. Terrorism remains a threat that needs constant vigilance and quick action from security agencies. It also highlights the importance of intelligence work, technology use, and cooperation among various security organizations to prevent future attacks.
The full story of what happened is still being uncovered, and authorities have not yet released all their findings to the public. It will likely take some time before they understand everything clearly, including how the terrorists planned the attack and who was involved at every level.
In summary, the explosion near the Red Fort was a tragic event caused by a suspected terrorist plot. The incident has led to arrests and intensified efforts to stop similar threats in the future. The safety and security of citizens are a priority, and measures are being taken to prevent such events from happening again. The case remains active, and officials continue to work round the clock to ensure that justice is served and that the city remains safe for everyone.
